PRINCE JOHN DIVE RESORT

Located on Donggala in remote western Sulawesi, the Prince John Dive Resort is the only resort of its kind within 300 kilometres.  It lies just 70 kilometres south of the equator in one of the driest regions of Indonesia.

In fact it is so dry in this region the resort boasts that it receives more than 300 days of sunshine annually!

ACCOMMODATION

The Prince John Dive Resort offers 15 Bungalows in three different syles (Deluxe, Comfort, Relax), situated directly above a white beach in a quiet tropical garden. All are equipped with a mosquito net, a western-style bathroom with a shower and running water, and each has a spacious terrace with seating and hammock overlooking the turquoise waters of Palu bay.

Relax Bungalows

Traditional Indonesian bungalows built on stilts. Spacious facilities including double bed, corner shelves and a closet. Most of the front can be opened towards the veranda so you can watch the sunrise while still lying in your bed. Unlike the Comfort and Deluxe Bungalows this rooms are NOT equipped with hot water showers. An extra bed can be provided on request.

Comfort Bungalows

These comfortable stone bungalows are equipped with additional cupboards, shelves, a ceiling fan, an extra working table for photographers and hot water showers. The bungalows are located next to the beach and dive center which makes them even more attractive. An extra bed can be provided in this bungalows as well.

Deluxe Bungalows

This new build stone bungalows furniture is similiar to the Comfort Bungalows. They provide a ceiling fan, additional cupboards and a working table as well. But especially the bathrooms with hot water showers are more spacious . Two of our Deluxe Bungalows are connected by a broad corridor and a big terrace which makes them to the perfect domicile for famlies. Equipped with flexible blinds on the terrace they can be booked seperatly as well.

DIVING

Offering a variety of dive sites that includes wrecks, critters, walls, coral gardens and drift dives, the Prince John Resort has plenty of variety to entertain divers.  It is also possible to see larger fish here like Groupers and Bump-head Parrotfish.  Reef sharks and sea turtles can also occur here.

The house reef lies a short swim from the white sand beach in front of the resort.  It is a great site for learner divers and for guests wishing to snorkel in between the daily dives by boat.

Dive Centre

Prince John Resort has a fully equipped dive shopthat includes the following facilities:

  • Library with marine identification books
  • Toilets and hot water showers
  • Washing sink and drying facilities
  • 24 hour Charging station
  • Large equipment room with a locker for each bungalow
  • Complete sets of well-maintained rental equipment for at least 15 divers (Scubapro, Mares & Rough Waters)
  • 15 Scubapro regulators and BDCs
  • Card reading devices, CD- and DVD-burners for underwater photography
  • Rental of underwater lights and dive computers
  • First-aid equipment including oxygen supply on the boat and at the base
  • 3 Compressors (Bauer and Coltri Sub)
  • 8, 12 & 15 Liter Aluminum tanks, INT & DIN Valves
  • Camera room with work places and chargingstations

Dive Boats

2 fiberglass dive boats (4/8 people) for dive sites in the Inner Circle (1-8min)

1 wooden dive boat (12 people) for places in the Outer Circle (20-60min), equipped with:

  • Lifejackets
  • First aid kit
  • Oxygen tanks
  • Drinking water and hot water for coffee and tea
  • Toilet
  • Towels
  • Fresh water tank
  • Lunch (tours)

TRANSFERS

Access to Prince John Resort is via a flight to Palu from Jakarta.  Return airport transfers take XX hours each way.
