KUREDU ISLAND RESORT, MALDIVES

The stunning Sangu Water Villas epitomise the paradise of Kuredu Island Resort & Spa (Kuredu Island Resort & Spa)

Kuredu Island Resort (the sister island to Komandoo) is located approximately 152 kilometres north of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport and your adventure to this paradise island will begin with a 40-minute scenic seaplane transfer from Male with a bird’s eye view of the turquoise lagoons and fringing reef plates so iconic of The Maldives.

Nestled on the northern reef of the world famous Lhaviyani atoll, an area of stunning beauty and abundant fish life, Kuredu island's beautiful white sand beach stretches to over 3.5 kilometres and the resort offers seven different accommodation options to meet every budget.  Garden Bungalows are located amidst landscaped gardens. Beach bungalows are located on the beach with a beautiful view of the lagoon.  Beach Villas and Jacuzzi Beach Villas line the fine white sand offering magnificent ocean views or you could choose the ultimate Sangu Water Villas built over the ocean on wooden columns, where from you veranda you can watch baby reef sharks learning to hunt or small rays resting in the quite lagoon as the sun sets.  The Sangu Water Villa Honeymoon Suite is the same as a Sangu Water Villa but is more spacious and includes a living and dining room area plus a bathroom with a jacuzzi.  Sultan Pool Villas are located in the gardens, just a short walk from the beach.

The resort is served by four main restaurants, Bonthi, Koamas, ‘O’ and Sangu depending on your accommodation category, all serving buffets.

Four main “sister” restaurants, conveniently located to best serve our guests. Bonthi, for guests in Garden Bungalows and Beach Bungalows; Koamas, for guests in Beach Villas and Jacuzzi Beach Villas; “O” for guests in the nearby Beach Villas; Sangu for guests in Sangu Water Villas and the Sangu Honeymoon Suite, and Sultan Villa guests choose where they prefer to dine; all four featuring the same “all you can eat” buffet style meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner, served in traditional open-air, sand or wood floor, thatch or wood shingle roof dining rooms with a separate table for each room.

Also, there are “optional” à la carte restaurants including Franco’s, an all day dining menu featuring Mediterranean cuisine as well as pizza, burgers and sandwiches; The Far East, specializing in Japanese Teppanyaki cuisine; The Beach, serving fresh, local seafood and steaks; and 3 other “optional” á la carte choices; a Snack Menu at the Bars; Room Service and special Dinners served on the Beach!

Whether you are looking for a quiet romantic drink while you enjoy the breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean or to soak up some of the evening entertainment there are 7 bars and a Sai Kotari Tea House. There is a free WiFi connection available in all of the guest rooms and some public areas.

The island has 3 swimming pools, a floodlit tennis court, a floodlit badminton court, a football pitch, a 6 hole pitch & putt golf course & driving range and is proud to boast the largest watersports centre in the Maldives offering a wide range of activities to suit every interest and level of experience. Why not try your hand at windsurfing, kite surfing, catamaran sailing, parasailing, waterskiing, or wakeboarding in-between dives of course!

PRO DIVERS KUREDU

ProDivers are a PADI 5* Centre and are well known for their professional and efficient diving management. With almost 50 dive sites located within a 10-60 minutes boat ride there is a superb selection of top quality dive sites available. Dives are available every day and full day dive excursions are offered. The house reef can be dived between 9am and 9pm, and offers you the chance to come and dive whenever you and your buddy want to. Home to a huge range of fish the house reef is also home to a shipwreck running from 3m down to the channel floor at 22m. Swarming with lionfish, and a haven for schools of jacks and batfish, the wreck also provides sanctuary for Napoleon Wrasse at night as they seek shelter inside the ship. The reef itself is home to scorpion fish, turtles and puffer fish as well as the rare leaf fish. Dive boats leave the island three times every day. Whether you are looking for the adrenalin charged channel crossings and the chance to see sharks and rays, or a more relaxed dive to perfect your photography, the daily program of boat dives will be able to provide you with whatever you're looking for.
