Humboldt Explorer

Humboldt Explorer (Explorer Ventures)

Built in 2010, Humboldt Explorer is the latest vessel to fly the Explorer Ventures flag. Named after the current that brings such wonderful marine life to the Galapagos she is a steel monohull vessel, strong and sturdy, ready to sail the Galapagos waters with ease.

There are eight air conditioned staterooms, two on the upper deck and six on the lower deck with en-suite facilities, flat screen televisions and large picture windows. Each cabin has two large twin beds that can be converted into one queen-sized bed. The air-conditioned salon on the main deck includes a dining area, TV, VCR, CD/DVD, video library and lounge area for the shade seekers. Aboard the Humboldt Explorer breakfast to set you up for the days diving is the usual fare of cereal, toast, fresh fruits and juices, cold meats and eggs cooked to order. Lunch and evening meals consist of many local dishes with lots of fresh vegetables and rice alongside wonderful tasty snacks served throughout the day, just incase you feel hungry between meals!

The partially covered sundeck, with its hot tub and very comfortable seating area is a wonderful place to while away the hours between dives. The dive deck has ample space for all your gear, an air and nitrox filling station, plus camera equipment with a dedicated camera rinse tank and table. Hot showers and a bathroom are located on the dive deck. Diving operations are conducted from two large pangas (tenders), easily boarded from the dive deck.

The Humboldt Explorer is one of very few vessels in the Galapagos that offers the world famous Wolf and Darwin sites in it’s diving program and is a definite contender amongst the luxury liveaboards operating in this area.
